LL2327 ERC-CZ project, period 2023-2028.
The goal of the project is to perform new, precise measurements of jets and high-transverse-momentum particles in heavy-ion collisions using the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The project also aims to develop a phenomenological interpretation of the data. Jets of hadrons are a key tool for investigating the strong interaction – one of the four fundamental forces of nature – and for exploring new concepts in particle physics. Studying jets and high-transverse-momentum particles in heavy-ion collisions provides new insights into the quark-gluon plasma, a state of matter that existed in the early stages of the evolution of the Universe.
